Basil Karsas

Legal Counsel

Basil is a highly experienced legal practitioner in commercial, white collar crime and other criminal law matters. He is responsible for providing expert and strategic legal advice to organisations and C-suite executives, as well as keeping abreast of latest legislative changes as they relate to clients.

Basil has served both in law firms and in-house for publicly-listed corporations. He has solid underpinnings in the commercial sector, having started his career working on corporate mergers and acquisitions, documenting and litigating business agreements, asset protection and trust structures, along with various other complex matters where he represented high net worth individuals.

Setting Basil apart is his unique ability to obtain the very best outcome for each and every client, whether it is through negotiation with the authorities or arguing the case before the court. He understands that a seemingly innocuous request for information can often result in charges that could have been avoided had the individual or company sought proper legal advice at the time of any first signs of investigation.

Basil is a key adviser to organisations in the development of superior growth strategies and programs. In matters relating to current or potential legal proceedings, where protection of a client is needed, Basil will often engage 1Up Communications to manage the ‘court of public opinion’ protection strategy, whilst he handles the legal protection component through his firm, thus ensuring the interests of the client, such as legal privilege is greatest protected.
